The publisher identified on our Publisher & contact page is responsible for the personal data described here.
Your calculation stays in your browser
Your amounts, APY, time in years or months, currency choice, comparison, inflation and goal settings, and results are processed locally by the calculator directly on this page, in your browser. They are not sent to us or another service, written to browser storage, added to a URL or included in application logs. Reset, reloading or leaving and reopening the calculator clears the scenario.
The calculator does not request exchange rates or bank data. USD, EUR, GBP and JPY are calculation units; choosing another currency does not convert your amounts.
CSV and image downloads and printing happen only when you choose them. The calculator generates them in your browser without uploading your scenario.
Optional feedback
When you choose Give feedback, we load a Tally form to collect your message and optional category and email address. We send only fixed site, page, component, language, release and environment identifiers. We do not attach your calculator input, results or page query string. Please leave out personal financial information.
We use feedback to improve the site and may use your optional email only for follow-up about your message. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in understanding and fixing product problems. Feedback is not a marketing subscription.
Tally receives your message and ordinary connection information, including your IP address. See Tally’s privacy policy (opens in a new tab). We remove the optional contact field and minimise personal details before sending feedback to OpenAI’s Codex for AI-assisted analysis. This processing uses external services and does not happen entirely on your device. International processing and provider recovery periods may apply; see OpenAI’s privacy policy (opens in a new tab).
Access is limited to the operator and authorised processing. We may keep restricted backups of feedback and review progress in Google Drive; see Google’s privacy policy (opens in a new tab). We review raw feedback and its backups for deletion after 90 days. Recovery periods may apply. We retain minimised improvement themes only while needed, and a person decides what to change. Hosting information
Cloudflare delivers the public website. It receives ordinary request and connection information, including your IP address, requested public page, browser information and request time. This is separate from the calculator values, which are not part of these requests.
We use hosting information to deliver the site reliably and protect it against misuse, based on our legitimate interest in operating a secure website. Cloudflare also processes service and security information under its own privacy policy. Processing may take place outside your country, including outside the European Economic Area. Cloudflare's Data Processing Addendum describes its processor obligations and international transfer safeguards.
We do not maintain a database of calculator sessions or financial inputs. There is no server copy of your calculation to retrieve. We have not established a single retention period for every copy of Cloudflare's connection and security information.
Cookies, advertising and analytics
This version sets no site cookies, uses no browser storage and loads no advertising, advertising-consent or visitor analytics scripts. Search Console may provide the publisher with aggregated search impressions and clicks; it does not add a visitor script to this site or receive calculator input.
If advertising or other processing is introduced, we will update this policy and provide the required choices before it starts.
If you contact us
Email is optional. We use your sender details and message to answer your enquiry, investigate an issue or handle a privacy request. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding, or a legal obligation where one applies to your request. Email providers also process the message to deliver and store it. Please do not send personal financial information.
We retain correspondence only while needed for the enquiry, resulting correction or legal obligation, then remove it when no longer needed. Provider retention and recovery copies may also apply.
Your privacy rights
Where the GDPR applies, you can ask to access or correct personal data we hold about you, request erasure or restriction, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Data portability applies where its legal conditions are met. These rights have legal limits; we explain any limit that applies to a request. We do not make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects about you.
Use the contact route on Publisher & contact for a request. We respond to applicable GDPR requests without undue delay and normally within one month; where a permitted extension is needed, we explain it within that month. We may need enough information to verify your identity. You can also complain to your competent data protection authority, including the Dutch Data Protection Authority. You do not have to contact us first. The GDPR sets out these rights.
